Back to Nottingham

Today is my last day at home, then I'm back in Nottingham for a day or two then we're off to New York!

I spent the day so far with my parents enjoying the delights of Ikea. No matter how many times we say we're only going for a few things, we always end up with a new table or a random plant. The initial plan was to get a few things for uni that I forgot or didn't think I would need. The first on my list was a 'old lady' shopping bag, the ones that you drag along with wheels. Our flat is fortunately very close to Tescos, but it's a right faff to carry all the bags back. So I came to the conclusion it would be better if I could find a halfway non-embarrassing trolley bag to use instead. Luckily we found a lovely black one on the way in, so all was left was some hand towels I fancied for me and Carmen's bathroom. Every time I go into Ikea now it reminds me of the scene in '500 Days of summer' when they pretend to live in one of the tiny bedrooms. Anyway on top of the trolley and the hand towels we managed to justify buying 4 plastic cups, a mirror, coat hangers, another mirror, a shoe box and two different washing up utensils.

Later on today I'm spending the evening with my two brothers and my parents for a meal, as a sort of send off for me. No doubt they will yet again remind me how very cold New York will be.
